Instead of bitching about how I just got another incredibly nice rejection letter telling me that I was the second choice, I'll just post some more Alaska pictures. I would like to point out first though that this is the second job I have been excited about only to find out I was almost hired. This letter said: "During the interview you were articulate, had a good presence, and really engaged in the discussion well. I cannot think of anything you could improve upon." And while that should make me feel good, it doesn't give me a paycheck. And I don't want to think about the fact that I might be subconsciously posting so many pictures lately because this could very well be my last summer in Juneau if I don't find something soon. So, let's not talk about that and instead just go ahead and look at these damn pictures.Looking at Mt. Juneau from Douglas, Alaska.
I love skunk cabbage. I think it's so beautiful. And I love that some people call it ogre's lantern.
Muskeg is also something that doesn't sound like it's going to be pretty but then you hike into it and it turns out to be breathtaking.
One of the great things about living in a rain forest is that there is water everywhere. (Duh.) Creeks, ocean, rivers, lakes - they are all impressive. I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. For now anyway.
